“It is delightful that our agenda is dedicated to the subject of culture today, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov as he delivered speech during the meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Heads of Government held in Moscow, APA reports.

The Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan greatly contributes to the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation within CIS:

“Various events in this field are regularly being held in our state that bring together art, culture, science and education figures. Azerbaijan already has become a traditional place to hold such events. Of course, all of those are based on the geographical, historical and cultural roots, centuries-old traditions of multiculturalism that’s specific to the Azerbaijani people. The Republic of Azerbaijan is multi-ethnic and multi-confessional state. The representatives of all nations and religions live in our country in peace, understanding and friendship for centuries. They are all our citizens with equal rights regardless of their nationality and religion. We declare this fact once again from this high pedestal today. Our state actively encourages interethnic dialogue through numerous international platforms.
