"I believe that the normalization process in the South Caucasus is positive," former British Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan James Sharp, who attended the international international forum themed “COP29 and Green Vision for Azerbaijan” held in ADA University on April 23, told journalists, APA reports.

"The recent agreement between the parties, the return of the four villages, is a very positive development. The parties are now in direct communication with each other, which is a positive development for progress. It is a positive development that the Russian peacekeepers have left the region. I remember that when the ceasefire was signed in November 2020, everyone was happy, they were only not pleased that Russian forces entered the territory of Azerbaijan. It is a positive development that they left Azerbaijan now. I think that positive steps in the direction of the peace agreement will continue. We are hopeful that the parties will create a mechanism without mediators for direct contact from now on as well."
