It seems that in the coming months, there is a positive development in the direction of the peace process with Baku, the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, APA reports.

It has been reported that the Armenian leader is paying more attention to relations with Türkiye and Azerbaijan, which have a long history of ties, in matters concerning Russia.

"The future of the region has long been linked to the opening of borders and trade routes, including the land connection passing through Armenian territory, with respect for the sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Türkiye," stated Pashinyan.

He stated that security should be ensured not only with the help of the military but also by establishing enduring peace in the region.

"We should first work towards improving regional relations. Strengthening security relations is not a call to Western military bases and weapons. We aspire to lasting regional peace," Pashinyan said.
