Georgia participates actively in dialogue between Azerbaijan, Armenia - Farid Shafiyev

A round table titled "Georgia's mediation role in regional relations" was held in Baku, APA reports.

The round table was organized at the initiative of the Center for International Relations Analysis and with the participation of Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board of the Center for International Relations Analysis Farid Shafiyev highly appreciated the relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia and the role of Georgia in the region:

"Georgia's role in the region and its activity in the platforms that the 3 countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia) participate in are of great importance, the current issues are being discussed. Azerbaijan and Georgia always support each other's positions. Georgia is participating actively in the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well. There are also a number of regional projects. We see that Georgia has special role in the new geopolitical realities as well," he said.

According to the Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze, the opening of transport communications in the South Caucasus will lead to positive changes in the economy of the countries of the region in the future. The political scientist noted his hope on cooperation and normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on mutual trust will take place in the near future. Vasadze stressed that Georgia is always ready to participate in the dialogue process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
