Azerbaijan’s efforts to investigate the fate of missing persons are commendable, former President of the Republic of Croatia and member of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Stjepan Mesić, said during his speech at the international conference titled “Uniting Efforts and Enhancing Cooperation for Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons” held in Baku, APA reports.
Mesić emphasized that Azerbaijan is currently undergoing a crucial phase: “Normalization, the peace agreement, and integration processes can only succeed if they incorporate a humanitarian dimension. If the questions of the families of missing persons remain unanswered, peace and normalization will not be achievable,” he stated.
“In this regard, the work carried out by Azerbaijan is highly commendable. These efforts play a vital role in fostering peace and stability in the South Caucasus region,” Mesić added.
