The European Union expects progress in the issue of demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani borders, the EU high-ranking official told journalists in Brussels, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
"Regarding border demarcation, a lot of work has been done in recent months. We would like to agree on the future steps, on what basis, on what map and principles, the demarcation will be carried out," the source said.
He confirmed that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will participate in the summit of the European Political Community in Granada.
"There have been active contacts over the last week... Despite the difficult situation on the ground, we are studying whether progress is possible," the official said.
He recalled that despite the tension between the sides, both countries mutually recognized each other's territorial integrity.
