Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev met with the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq for bilateral relations Mohammad Huseyn Bahr Al-Ulum, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Yalchin Rafiyev, who emphasized that our country attaches special importance to the development of relations with the Republic of Iraq, with which our country is historically connected by ethnic, religious and cultural lines, recently increased dynamism in Azerbaijan-Iraq relations, in this regard, on November 20, Iraqi President Abdullatif He said that Jamal Rashid's first official visit to Azerbaijan and the negotiations and signed documents during the visit are a clear example of this.
Yalchin Rafiyev emphasized the importance of the ongoing political dialogue, economic-trade relations, inter-parliamentary and inter-regional cooperation and cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and Iraq, and said that mutual visits are important.
During the meeting, views were exchanged between the two countries on ways to continue mutual support mechanisms and intensify mutual visits within the framework of international organizations.
The parties emphasized that the intergovernmental commission is an important mechanism for the development of cooperation in economic-commercial, cultural, tourism, energy, investment and other areas of common interest, and expressed their confidence that the next meeting of the commission to be held in Baghdad in December of this year will yield effective results.
