Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' press service told APA.
Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov spoke about the existing friendly and brotherly ties between the two countries and recalled that bilateral relations, based on the historical and cultural closeness of our peoples with common roots, shared values, mutual respect and trust, have been successfully developing at the level of strategic partnership thanks to the political foresight and wisdom of President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
In this context, touching upon the expanding ties between the Ministries of Emergency Situations of the two countries the minister noted that, in accordance with the relevant instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations following the powerful earthquake in Osh region in 2015, as well as the provision of material and technical assistance free of charge to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic last year, were further manifestations of brotherly solidarity between the two countries and had contributed to the development of goodwill relations between the institutions.
The minister spoke about the importance of further developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations in the prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergencies, civil defense, specialist training, exchange of professional experience and other areas. He expressed confidence that the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Baku would continue its efforts in this regard.
Ambassador Maksat Mamytkanov expressed satisfaction with the continued development of friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. In this context, the ambassador emphasized the mutual benefits of further expanding ties between the relevant institutions of the two countries in the prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergencies and noted that he would spare no effort in this direction.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
