"The 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) is being celebrated. This significant occasion provides an important opportunity not only to review AIDA's achievements over the past period, but also to assess Azerbaijan's development path in the field of international development cooperation and its role as a country making an increasingly active contribution to this area," Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during his speech at the conference titled "Promoting Global Solidarity through Cooperation for Humanitarian Support and Development," dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency, APA reports.

The minister noted that traditions of solidarity and charity lie at the foundation of this development path: "As Azerbaijan developed and strengthened its state institutions, the tradition of individual charity gradually evolved into a systematic state policy encompassing the provision of humanitarian assistance, the sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as partnerships for development. This tradition continues today. There are historical examples of this, particularly in the field of education. In the second half of the 20th century, tens of thousands of students from Asian, African and Latin American countries studied at Azerbaijan's higher education institutions. Today, this tradition continues through the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Program, programs implemented within the framework of the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as various training programs," he said.

According to the foreign minister, cooperation for Azerbaijan is not limited solely to providing financial assistance. The sharing of knowledge, expertise, and Azerbaijan's successful development experience is becoming an increasingly important component of the country's approach.

The minister also noted that Azerbaijan's international assistance policy will continue to be guided by the country's national priorities, the principle of mutual benefit, practical implementation, and the achievement of sustainable results.
