Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, spoke about her meeting with her Armenian counterpart Alen Simonyan in Geneva, APA reports.
At today's parliamentary session, Sahiba Gafarova said that the meeting was the 3rd meeting within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
"On October 21, we had a meeting with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, in Geneva. This was the 3rd meeting within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The importance of the agreements reached at the Washington summit and the measures taken to normalize relations was emphasized at the meeting. The importance of continuing the constructive dialogue was noted," Sahiba Gafarova said.
Note that on October 21, a meeting was held in Geneva between the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, and Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
