Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers have held a phone conversation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia released information in this regard, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
“On October 28, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov have held a phone conversation. The Ministers have discussed the current issues of bilateral relations, regional and international agendas.
"On the basis of a set of tripartite agreements at the highest level for 2020-2022, the necessity of increasing efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the preparation of a peace treaty, the opening of the transport communications and the delimitation of Armenia-Azerbaijan borders was confirmed," the Russian Ministry noted.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan have also released information regarding the phone conversation. The Ministry notes:
"On October 28, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov have held a phone conversation.
During the phone conversation, the Ministers discussed the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, the prospects of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, as well as the current situation in the region.
During the phone conversation, the importance of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia within the framework of sovereignty and territorial integrity and the of establishing lasting peace in the region was emphasized.
Opinions were also exchanged on other issues during the phone conversation."
