On October 5, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, APA reports citing MFA press service.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of the development of Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership, as well as issues related to the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
The two highlighted significant progress made in advancing the strategic partnership in bilateral ties following the historic summit in Washington on August 8, 2025.
In this regard, the importance of the activities of working groups operating in the priority areas identified in the Azerbaijan-U.S. Strategic Partnership Charter in further deepening bilateral cooperation was emphasized.
The sides also highlighted major achievements in 2026 under the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership, noting that agreements signed in energy, hydrocarbon exploration, development and production, investment, digital technologies, trade and other areas on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum have significantly expanded the practical substance of bilateral cooperation.
Jeyhun Bayramov provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s consistent efforts to advance its peace agenda, build confidence, and strengthen regional stability.
The conversation also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
