The Government of Azerbaijan has sent an invitation to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) for monitoring of early presidential elections, the Press secretary of OSCE ODIHR said in response to APA’s question.
The official of the OSCE ODIHR said, visits are taking place to OSCE member states where the elections are held some time before election day, during such visits, meetings are being held with a wide audience, including government officials, election administration, representatives of the justice system, political parties, representatives of civil society and the media in order to asses pre-election environment and preparation for voting day.
“Each election monitoring is decided on its points after the preliminary needs assessment.
The report of ODIHR on needs assessment regarding the upcoming elections in Azerbaijan will be published in the coming days,” the official added.
