Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia establish diplomatic relations-PHOTO

A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia was signed today in New York by Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Tofig Musayev, and the Permanent Representative of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United Nations, Jim Lipwe, Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the UN told the APA.

The Joint Communiqué states that the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia intend to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between their countries and peoples.

The document also emphasizes that the governments of both states are guided in establishing diplomatic relations by the UN Charter and the universally recognized norms and principles of international law, particularly the principles of state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.

It was noted that the permanent representatives also addressed a letter to the UN Secretary-General requesting the circulation of the Joint Communiqué as an official UN document.
