“Armenia itself is to blame for the fact that Armenia's border gates with both Azerbaijan and Türkiye remain closed,” Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev told journalists, APA reports.
He said that such a situation has arisen in the region as a result of Armenia's invasion, aggression policy.
"Fraternal Türkiye's conclusion has always been that relations with Armenia may be normalized if Armenia ends its occupation of Azerbaijani lands, abandons its territorial claims against both Türkiye and Azerbaijan and finally comes up with a positive agenda in the region. Azerbaijan and Türkiye synchronously always supported the normalization of relations and constantly sent positive messages to Armenia. But, of course, Armenia should still assess the region's potential and take the approach of solving the region's problems internally," Hikmet Hajiyev said.
