"Tomorrow, October 1, at 14:00, the Belgium-based extremist Armenian diaspora organizations, augmented by similar radicals arriving from France, are organizing a rally at Rond-Point Schuman in Brussels," Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of the Mission to the European Union Vagif Sadigov wrote on his X account, APA reports.
Mr. Sadigov wrote that according to available insider’s information, after the rally extremist mobs plan to use violence against the Embassy of Azerbaijan at Avenue de Tervueren 282: "Belgian Foreign Ministry and Brussels police have been informed by the Embassy. According to Armenian sources, a few Belgian politicians are also invited."
"This provocation will follow recent similar violent actions by radical Armenian diaspora groups against Azerbaijani diplomatic missions in Beirut on September 29 and Los Angeles on September 30. Members of radical Armenian groups having settled in Belgium and abusing the hospitality of the host nation and the freedoms enjoyed by them in this country, have always been targeting Azerbaijan in Belgium. In a violent attack against the Embassy in 2021, two Azerbaijani nationals were wounded," wrote Azerbaijani diplomat.
According to him, violent actions against the Embassy and its diplomats planned for tomorrow are aimed against the fledgling peace process developing between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the tireless efforts of the EU and US on the eve of an important top-level meeting in Granada, Spain on October 5: "A new element in this game is that the actions of radical Armenian groups based in Belgium are also aimed at the government of Armenia which is blamed for “treason of national interests”. Most shocking is that Armenian diplomats in Brussels share these views by keeping operational contacts with Dashnaks and other radical opposition groups whose representatives are not even allowed to visit Armenia."
