Azerbaijan unveils volume of cigarette and tobacco produced over last year

During 2024, 16 billion 75.6 million cigarettes and cigars, and 4264.9 tons of tobacco were produced in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistic Committee.

According to the Committee, the production of cigarettes and cigars increased by 0.4%, however, tobacco production by 84.4% comparing the year.

Note that on January 1, 2025, prepared production precautions over cigarette and tobacco respectively accounted for 1 billion 97 million and 768.2 tons.

Recall that in 11 months of last year 74 million cigarettes worth USD 1 million 354 thousand, were imported to Azerbaijan. However, in this period, 1 billion 910 million cigarettes worth of USD 29 million 854 thousand were exported. Cigarettes have mainly imported from Türkiye (56,5 million) and Bulgaria (15,4 million) to Azerbaijan. Cigarettes have mainly exported to Georgia (1 billion 572 million), Russia (96.4 million), Kyrgyzstan (83.5 million), Oman (72,8 million), Iraq (43.7 million), United Arab Emirates (10 million) and Kazakhstan (7.9 million).
