Excise taxes on tobacco products will be increased starting next year, APA reports.
This is reflected in the amendments to the Tax Code approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The excise rate on products intended for inhalation without combustion that contain tobacco or reconstituted tobacco will be increased from 16 manats to 25.5 manats per 1,000 units for both domestic production and imports.
For other smoking tobaccos—excluding tobacco intended for manufacturing purposes—as well as homogenized or reconstituted tobacco, chewing tobacco, and snuff, the excise rate will be raised from 22 manats to 162 manats per kilogram for domestic production, and from 30 manats to 170 manats per kilogram for imports.
