Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's "long-range sanctions" had once again worked to limit Russia's oil revenues, which he said are used to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians, APA reports.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy said Ukraine's Defense Forces struck Russian facilities located more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line.
According to him, the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Bashkortostan was hit, while the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl region, nearly 700 kilometers from Ukraine's border, also came under attack.
Zelenskyy also said Ukraine had carried out successful operations in the Black Sea, claiming that two military patrol boats and vessels belonging to Russia's shadow fleet had been struck.
"I thank all the warriors of the Defense Forces who are systematically expanding our long-range capabilities and thereby increasing the chances for diplomacy. Russia must choose peace," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
