Parliamentarian Panah Huseyn resigned from the post of coordinator of Musavat parliamentary group as his tenure expired, the parliamentarian told the APA.
Panah Huseyn said that according to the regulations, coordinator is elected for a 6-month period and the next coordinator will be determined in autumn.
Panah Huseyn noted that there was divergence between the party officials and him.
“I am devoted to the Muslim-democrat idea. Some Musavat officials do not agree to it,” he said.
He said that he will continue cooperation with Musavat.
“Musavat is the closest opposition party for me,” he said.
Head of Musavat Central office Arif Hajili said that the party’s ideological course is reflected in the program.
“Therefore we will not contradict this. Generally, there is obscurity in the Muslim-democrat ideology. We can not say that Musavat is against Islam, as there are Islamic principles in the party,” he said. /APA/
