The second case of monkeypox infection has been identified in Russia, according to department of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg, APA reports citing Lente.ru.
“The disease was diagnosed in a man who returned from a trip to Europe. The patient was hospitalized with characteristic symptoms in a medical organization of an infectious profile. There is no threat to the patient’s life,” the department said.
Specialists also found out with whom the sick person had contact, doctors are monitoring them. The possibility of further spread of the infection has been stopped, Rospotrebnadzor said.
