Russian Foreign Ministry has commented on the entry ban of State Duma’s pro-Armenian member Konstantin Zatulin, and journalist of Armenian origin Margarita Simonyan to Armenian territory, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
Official representative of Russian MFA Maria Zakharova said that they welcomed this information with confusion.
“Remind that we speak about the deputy of State Duma and editor-in-chief of Russian media. We applied to the Armenian side through diplomatic channels about immediate approval of this information officially or providing an explanation. We consider that if this information is confirmed, it will be assessed according to the nature of the alliance relationship. When we receive an official response, then we will determine our response, and steps to be taken,” noted a Russian MFA official.
