Over 80,000 out of 300,000 Russian reservists called up in the partial mobilization effort have been sent to combat areas in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday, APA reports citing TASS.
"A total of 87,000 men have been sent to the areas of combat operations after additional training and unit cohesion," the defense chief said at the ministry’s conference call.
As many as 3,000 instructors with combat experience in the special military operation in Ukraine have been involved in the mobilized personnel’s training, Shoigu said.
"The new formations are completing unit cohesion at training grounds. The basic efforts are focused on field skills, the ability to use communications, navigation and reconnaissance systems. Over three thousand instructors who have gained combat experience in the special military operation have been involved in this work," the defense minister said.
