"One of the most important tasks of the special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces is to protect the security of Russia and prevent the emergence of threats in the Ukrainian territory," said Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in his interview with Big Game program broadcasting on Russia's First Channel, APA reports.
The Diplomat noted that Russia intends to ensure the fulfillment of the goals of the special military operation which is carried out for the security of the four new regions.
"As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted our absolute priority is Russia's 4 new regions which must be freed from the threat of Nazism. Russia must ensure the safety of people living in those regions for many years," said the FM.
Recall that in accordance with the order signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24 of this year, a special operation was started in Ukraine.
