Russian authorities have raided TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak’s villa outside Moscow in connection with the arrest of an executive at her media holding company, while Sobchak herself appears to have fled the country , APA reports citing Good Word News.
Agents searched Sobchak’s property in the Moscow region village of Gorki-8, according to the 112 Telegram channel, which has ties to Russian security services.
The raid follows the arrest of Kirill Sukhanov, commercial director of Sobchak’s media holding company, “Ostorozhno, Media” (Attention, Media), at a Moscow restaurant on Tuesday.
Sukhanov was detained for allegedly extort government officials via Telegram channels.
Arian Romanovsky, former editor of Russian fashion magazine Tatler, was detained alongside Sukhanov in the extortion case, the Baza Telegram channel, also linked to Russian security services, reported.
The case concerns payments the couple allegedly demanded in return for guarantees that government officials would not receive critical coverage on the Telegram news channels run by Sobchak, according to RBC.
