The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kazakhstan has registered the incumbent head of state, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, as a candidate for the presidential election on November 20, APA reports citing mk.ru
According to Abdirov, Tokayev meets all the requirements set by the constitution and the law “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
Earlier it became known that the ex-deputy of the Majilis (lower house of parliament) of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Altaev, also submitted documents to the CEC. At the same time, on October 7, the heads of the branches of the Republican Public Association “Mukalmas,” from which the politician is registered for the elections, announced the falsification of the minutes of the meeting on the nomination of Tokayev’s rival.
