Yerevan began demining work before the start of the delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the section of the border passing through the territory of Armenia – in the Tavush region, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
Within the framework of delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan, police officers have been involved in the territory where the demining works have been started. Residents of the Voskepar village are trying to prevent the demining of the territories.
Up to 25 minesweepers have been involved in the territory.
This process was attempted once. However, the residents of Voskepar had tried to prevent it at the time.
Note that on April 19, an agreement was reached between the governments of Azerbaijan and Armenia on starting the delimitation process from the Tavush Province and concluding the work by July 1 on the Regulation of the Joint Commission.
