"A peace treaty is necessary between Azerbaijan and Armenia," Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Valday Discussion Club, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
"Of course, a peace agreement is necessary. Our position is to support peace settlement. We also support the delimitation of the borders and the full regulation of the border issue. We are in favor of it. As for which option to choose, it is up to Armenia, the Armenian people, and the Armenian leadership. In all cases, whichever option is chosen, if it will lead to peace, we only support it," Putin said.
Putin said that Russia does not force anyone: "We cannot dictate something to Armenia and we do not prepare to do it. If the people and leadership of Armenia believe that it is necessary to choose some variant of the peace agreement, as far as I understand, this is Washington's plan. Which reflects the recognition of Azerbaijan's sovereignty over Karabakh. Then let them order."
According to Vladimir Putin, all the choices of the Armenian people will be supported.
