6.3-magnitude earthquake hits Russia

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake rocked off the Nizhneudinsky district of the Irkutsk region of Russia, APA reports citing TASS.

According to the press department of the Ministry of Emergencies' regional head office, the magnitude of the quake at the epicenter was 6.3.

There has been no loss or damage.

"At 07:06 (03:06 Baku time) in the Irkutsk region, a seismic event was recorded in the Nizhneudinsky district, located 21 kilometers from the village of Aligdjer. 6.3 magnitude in the epicenter. No loss or damage. Infrastructural facilities are working normally," the report said.

According to seismologists, the magnitude was 4.5.

Nizhneudinsky district is located in the west of Irkutsk region, on the border with the Republic of Tyva and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
