Iran and the United States made significant progress at the talks in Geneva on February 26. Tehran was prepared to make significant concessions, but Washington is distorting the Islamic Republic's position, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said it in an interview with the MS Now television channel, APA reports.
"I never said we were going to build bombs. I said we had 440 kilograms of material enriched to 60%, and that wasn't a secret, as it's mentioned in International Atomic Energy Agency reports. I said, 'Look, the report indicates that if this material is enriched further, then, as your own experts say, it could be enough for 10 bombs, so we're prepared to give it up and dilute it to a lower level.' By saying that, I wanted to show that the concession we were making was truly significant, but I don't know how they interpreted it—it's possible it was due to a lack of knowledge or an intention to justify an act of aggression that cannot be justified," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
