The incident happened on Wednesday night in the Tulsa suburb of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Two teenage relatives, aged 18 and 16, who allegedly fled from the back door when police officers arrived at the scene, were arrested as suspects in the killings, police said.

The victims include adults and juveniles, and all of them were stabbed to death, according to Sgt. Thomas Cooper of the Broken Arrow Police Department.

One juvenile family member was critically injured and taken to the hospital, while another juvenile family member was found unhurt, Cooper said.

The suspects were tracked to a wooded trail area behind the house, he added.

Cooper called the incident "almost unprecedented" in the town of about 100,000.

"The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here," he added. "It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in."
