Kamaladdin Heydarov elected President of Azerbaijan Boxing Federation

Azerbaijan Boxing Federation (ABF) has today held a conference. Apasport.az website reports that the conference was held in the assembly hall of the National Olympic Committee. The only candidate to the post of ABF president Kamaladdin Heydarov, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov and Vice-President of National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh attended the conference.

133 out of 160 delegates attended the conference. According to the agenda, President of ABF Agajan Abiyev made a report covering 2005-2008 and representatives of boxing community addressed the conference. Following this, voting was held to elect the president. The only candidate to the post Kamaladdin Heydarov was unanimously elected president.

18-man Executive Committee was chosen after the voting. Agajan Abiyev, chief of sports department of Youth and Sport Ministry Mirkamil Rahimov, chief of Central Sports Club of Army (MOIK) Natig Aliyev, international referee Niftali Guliyev, European champion Rovshan Huseynov and others are the members of the committee.

Addressing the conference Azad Rahimov and Chingiz Huseynzadeh congratulated the new president and wished him success. Kamaladdin Heydarov highly appreciated the activity of Azerbaijan Boxing Federation and underlined that they would do their best to improve boxing.
Following the conference, the new composition of the Executive Committee held its first meeting.
