No Azerbaijanis among mayoral candidates of Georgia’s ruling party

Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream party has announced its mayoral candidates for the region of Kvemo Kartli densely populated by Azerbaijanis, APA’s local bureau reported.

The party nominated Irakli Tabagua for the post of mayor of Rustavi city, Ramaz Budagashvili for the post of mayor of Gardabani, Amiran Giorgadze for the post of mayor of Marneuli, Davit Sherazadishvili for the post of mayor of Bolnisi, Giorgi Tatuashvili for the post of mayor of Dmanisi, Ilia Sabadze for the post of mayor of Tsalka, Giorgi Koridze for the post of mayor Tetritskaro.

There are no Azerbaijanis among the mayoral candidates nominated by Georgian Dream for the region of Kvemo Kartli.

The ruling party announced two Armenian nationals as its mayoral candidates for the Armenian-populated Samtskhe-Javakheti region.

Georgia is set to hold municipal elections on October 21.
