Azerbaijani musician’s anniversary celebrated in Finland  - <span style="color: red;">PHOTO

Baku. Gulnar Bashirova – APA. An event was held on the occasion of member of Finland-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, teacher at Joensuu Conservatory Kamal Ashurbeyov’s 50th anniversary in Carelia-Sali hall in Joensuu with the support of the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

The event was attended by representatives of the city administration, music community and Azerbaijanis living in Finland.

Ashurbeyov performed Azerbaijani authors’ musical works. The event attendees were informed about Ashurbeyov’s creativity during the event and congratulatory speeches were made.

Kamal Ashurbeyov, the descendant of the famous Ashurbeyovs moved to Finland in 1994 after graduating from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. Benefit from the creativity of musicians such as Rashid Behbudov, Muslum Magomayev, Tofig Guliyev, Gara Garayev and Uzeyir Hajibeyli promote Azerbaijani culture, music and mughams not only in Finland, but in most European countries. Mr. Ashurbeyov has delivered lectures about the history of the Azerbaijani culture in Helsinki City Hall.
