Baku – APA. On September 20 at about 14:00, taxi driver Magsad Suleymanov, IDP from Zengilan district settled in the dormitory of “Shafa” sanatorium in Sumgayit, poured gasoline on himself and set himself on fire for unknown reasons near the bazaar in 20 January Street, APA reports.
The joint statement of Sumgayit City Prosecutor's Office and Police Department says that police officers serving in the area intervened immediately, extinguished fire by means of a special device and called an ambulance.
Magsad Suleymanov was taken to hospital #5 in Baku with serious burn injures, but died at about 15:00.
Sumgayit City Prosecutor's Office has launched a criminal case on the fact under article #125 (bringing to suicide) of the Criminal Case.
The investigation is underway.
