On April 2, 2024, a landmine explosion occurred in the Chayli village of Azerbaijan's Tartar district, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor General's Office, and Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said in a joint statement, APA reports.
According to the report, Polad Ismayilov Alish, born in 1969, Arzuman Taghizada Ahliman, born in 1992, and Elmin Baghirov Elnur, born in 2006, got injured as a result of a landmine explosion that occurred while grazing animals in the former contact line, in an area not cleared of landmines.
Investigation is underway at the Tartar District Prosecutor’s Office into the fact.
"Republic of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor General's Office, and ANAMA once again call on citizens to follow safety guidelines and avoid entering unknown territory and to pay close attention to all the signs of danger," the joint statement said.
