Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. I feel pride in the start of the second stage of Shahdeniz field, said the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the 20th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century” and groundbreaking ceremony of the Southern Gas Corridor.

He noted that Azerbaijan is one of nearest friends and partners of Georgia: “We have implemented projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipelines. TANAP project will be implemented, Europe’s energy map will be changed, new opportunities will be opened for the states in Black Sea and Caspian sea basins, new jobs will be launched, poverty level will be reduced. We support Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline project for export of Kazakh and Turkmen reserves”.

Garibashvili said that these projects will ensure sustainable development: “Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will play a great role in the regional development. We integrate to the global markets through these. Free trade with the neighbor countries will be a great contribution. We’d like to concern the free trade with EU to other countries too. We’ll do our best for Georgia to be a reliable partner in the region and the world”.
