According to him, Azerbaijan plans to increase energy production by 2020: “Firstly, Azerbaijan develops program on socio-economic development of the regions. In this regard, the industry is planned to be developed in all cities and regions”.
The Minister said that development of industrial sector in the regions requires energy growth: “Capacity of energy in Azerbaijan exceeded 7,000 MVt. We try to increase it by 2020”.
Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan’s demand for energy is met by domestic production: “We merged our lines with Russia”. We carried out all works in our territory, constructed 500 KVt lines and substations. Last year, Russia and Azerbaijan signed agreement on operation of energy systems in parallel regime”.
Minister also underlined that these works have also been carried out in Azerbaijan-Iran border: “the system is ready, only certain organizational works are incomplete. 500 kVt-Samukh-Gardabani power line has been constructed between Azerbaijan and Georgia”.
