Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy to visit Georgia

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. The delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev will pay an official visit to Georgia on December 11. The aim of the visit is to attend the opening ceremony of 500/400/220 kV Akhaltsikhe sub-station and 400kV power supply line uniting Georgia with Turkey within the Black Sea Transmission Network Project, APA-Economics reports quoting the Ministry of Energy.

The delegation includes president of Azerenerji OSC Etibar Pirverdiyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Georgia Azer Huseynov and other officials. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, EU representatives, ambassadors and other senior officials will attend the event.

The Black Sea Transmission Network Project is a part of Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey energy bridge project. It will ensure integration of Azerbaijan into Georgia and Turkey, in the future into the European energy market. According to the Ministry of Energy, the project is of great importance for Azerbaijan both from political and economic aspect.
