“In Azerbaijan, the field of cartography has gone through a long and dynamic development path. We attach great importance to further accelerating cooperation in cartography. Mapping of natural resources and the formation of a unified system of the regional ecosystem is one of the main priorities facing the OTS,” said Rashad Ismayilov, First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the 2nd Meeting of Heads of Mapping Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), APA reports.
He noted that the international authority of the organization is gradually increasing: “Cooperation within the OTS across various platforms is expanding. Currently, there are serious opportunities within the organization to establish unified standards at the regional level and to expand joint thematic cartography mechanisms,” he said.
Rashad Ismayilov emphasized that in the upcoming period, Azerbaijan is ready to contribute to the development of cartography.
