Appeal of Western Azerbaijan Community to int'l community circulated as a UN document

The Secretariat of the United Nations (UN) circulated the appeal of the Western Azerbaijan Community to the international community as an official document of the UN Security Council, the General Assembly, and the Economic and Social Council, APA reports.

The appeal has been circulated in all the official languages of the UN (English, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish), and the agenda of the mentioned main bodies under the clauses regarding the prevention of armed conflicts, peacebuilding, protection of refugees' rights, elimination of racial discrimination, promoting of human rights, genocide, and the prevention of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.

It was stated that the circulation of the appeal was a great success in bringing the issue of the rights of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to the international level: "Connecting the issue with the mentioned clauses of the agenda of the UN most authoritative bodies is the manifestation that the return of Azerbaijanis to their homes is necessary for the protection of basic human rights, the establishment of international peace, security and cooperation in the international level. This success further inspires our society to continue its efforts for a peaceful, safe, and worthy return. The West Azerbaijani community expresses gratitude to the UN Secretariat for creating conditions for the dissemination of this appeal.
