"According to statistics, residence permits have been issued to 107,307 citizens of 164 countries in Georgia," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech in parliament on migration issues, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, Azerbaijani citizens rank third among these individuals, accounting for 6.3%.
“It can be assumed that the vast majority of Azerbaijani citizens are those who once left Georgia, currently hold Azerbaijani citizenship, and have returned to Georgia,” Kobakhidze added.
The Prime Minister noted that the largest numbers of residence permits in Georgia have been granted to citizens of Russia (32,129 people) and India (23,930 people).
