Winnie Byanyima said that we must be prepared for future health crisis and economic shocks:
“We should not be prepared when these events will happen but for the event itself. We should prepare an action plan for the expected AIDS pandemic. We witnessed the death of people in the previous pandemic. This time we must prepare to prevent such situations. Pharmaceutical companies should not be working to make a profit in a pandemic. Solutions should be designed so that medicines are distributed equally across countries. The cases of pregnancy among young girls have also increased. We must fight against HIV. On the other hand, since the pandemic is not completely gone, WHO offers solutions. WHO Director General has also said that the COVID pandemic should also be an opportunity for us. We need to find solutions at the Global Baku Forum.”
