The first lunar eclipse of the year has ended, Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory told APA.

This eclipse is the penumbral lunar eclipse. Since the Moon does not go into total shadow during this eclipse, the eclipse is not very noticeable.

The Penumbral Lunar Eclipse is observed in the eastern part of Australia, in South and North America, in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic and Antarctic, and in the western part of Europe.

The eclipse started at 08:53 and ended at 13:32. The maximum eclipse was at 11:12. The eclipse was not observed in Azerbaijan, as the Moon was below the horizon.
