Today, the International Forum on Healthy Environment and Mine-Free Life to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held in Azerbaijan's Aghdam, APA's Garabagh bureau reports.

Within the framework of the International Forum on Healthy Environment and Mine-Free Life to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) organized by Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in partnership with Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the international experts first visited the Aghdam Alley of Martyrs.

Later, they got acquainted with the area where demining works were carried out with rats and dogs by the first women minesweepers group in Azerbaijan.

At the Forum held at the Conference Center in Aghdam with the participation of 15 international experts and representatives of local NGOs, the speakers discussed the fact that Azerbaijan is in the top ten among more than 60 countries suffering from the threat of mines in the world, and that during the occupation, Armenians polluted the territories without following any rules of war.

At the end of the Forum, an appeal to international organizations and the world community was adopted.

The appeal states that the Forum participants appeal to the international community from Aghdam, one of the most landmine-contaminated cities in the world, to be more active in the fight against landmines and UXOs.
