During 2023, 60 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 13 of them being women and 47 children, have been repatriated from Syria to Azerbaijan, Head of the Ombudsman Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aydin Safikhanli said during the discussion of the "Report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2023" at the meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), APA reports.
According to him, as a result of the measures taken by the government of Azerbaijan, the repatriation of 469 children and women in total from Iraq and Syria has been carried out.
