Youth and Sport Ministry told APA that members of Azerbaijani delegation – Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov, vice-president of National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to People’s Republic of China Yashar Aliyev and other officials participated in the ceremony. Mayor of the Olympic village made a keynote speech at the ceremony.
He noted that delegations of various countries participated in Beijing Olympic Games under the slogan “One World One Dream†and welcomed Azerbaijani delegation.
Head of Azerbaijani delegation Ilham Madatov was invited to the rostrum and hoisted Azerbaijan’s flag under the hymn of Azerbaijan in the Olympic village.
