The Russian publication Nezavisimaya Gazeta considered Azerbaijan's complete settlement of the Garabagh issue as one of the five main events of the past year, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“Azerbaijan has resolved the Garabagh issue. In 2023, the history of Nagorno Garabagh which was not recognized for more than 32 years ended. On a large scale, the future of the "second Armenian state" was decided in 2020 according to the results of the second Garabagh war. However, several years were needed for the final settlement of this issue,” the publication emphasized.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta's list of the top five events of the year included Vladimir Putin's fifth presidential bid, the growth of the Russian economy amid unprecedented sanctions, Prigozhin's rebellion, and Ukraine's counteroffensive blocking the Surovikin Line.
