The "Media Literacy" Conference was held on December 17, 2024, as part of the "Media Literacy" Week organized by the Azerbaijan's Media Development Agency and in partnership with relevant state and private institutions, academic institutions, media and civil society institutions, with the participation of officials of various institutions, local and foreign experts in the field, and about 500 Azerbaijani volunteers and youth, APA reports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Conference, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Ahmad Ismayilov, said that increasing media literacy is a fairly large-scale and continuous process covering all segments of society, the importance of establishing communication between state institutions, the media and society on the basis of sound principles and effective communication, and that improving the professionalism of the media in content production is of great importance in this direction.

During the conference, a video clip was presented containing the views expressed at the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum held in July of this year on disinformation and media literacy.

At the end of the conference, Presidential Award winner and techno-blogger Tariyel Agazade gave a presentation on "Tools and Techniques" on detecting disinformation. The presentation brought to the attention of the audience the technologies and methods used to identify fake news, one of the biggest problems of the modern era.
