The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan strongly condemns the pressure and threats against the employees of the AzTV television channel, which performs its professional duties in France, and considers this fact as a threat to the freedom of speech and media, noted in the statement of Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"As it is known, on June 28, 2023, the reporter and operator of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC were attacked while preparing a reportage in France, they were lightly injured, their cameras were taken from their hands and they were threatened. The Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is a regulatory body in the field of audiovisual media, calls on the relevant bodies of France, as well as international media and journalist rights organizations, to make a legal assessment of the incident, and demands that local law enforcement agencies take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future. - the statement emphasizes.
